Why were you interested in SY meditation?
Meditation was a part of my life growing up. Though it wasn’t something that I pursued as a teenager. Later, when I was a university student, I noticed that I found it difficult to enjoy the present moment and only could say I had fun in hindsight. At that moment in life I was going through a rough patch. Which is why I decided to follow a free online Sahaja Yoga meditation course that I could do in my own pace, discovering the state of meditation within myself.
Is it difficult to meditate for 10 minutes a day?
It’s certainly not difficult to meditate everyday. But of course it’s a new habit that we have to get used to. Integrating it into your morning routine helps. Like, for instance, after you have your bath in the morning sit down in the bathroom for 10 minutes to connect to yourself. Or, in the evening on your bed before you lay down to sleep, take 5 minutes to reflect on the day and express gratitude for the things you’ve learnt. You’ll notice that after a while it has turned into a habit you will thank yourself for.
What is the most important lesson you learned from Shri Mataji? This might sound like a cliché, but nonetheless the dearest to my heart; that love is the most powerful source of the universe
